Central University of Himachal Pradesh was established in 2009. On 20th January 2010, University became functional with the assumption of charge by the first Vice Chancellor. It is a Central University headquartered from Dharamsala, Himachal Pradesh, India. To establish Central Universities in each of the states that do not already have a central university it was founded in 2009 as a result of the government's policy. 


Location of the University

  • In Dharamshala, District Kangra , Himachal Pradesh the Headquarter of the University is located. An attractive ambience conducive to academic pursuits is provided by its serene Location, pleasant climatic condition.

Permanent Campuses

In Dharamshala and Dehra University will have two distinct campuses. 

  • Beas Campus:  For about 70 percent of the academic activities of the University it may have infrastructure and it is located in Dehra.
  • Dhauladhar Campus: For about 30 percent of the academic activities of the University it may have infrastructure and it is located in Dharamshala.
