Sri Manjunatha Swamy Vidya Samsthe was established in the year 1987 by the group of schedule caste persons with goal to provide education and training Programme for the students of SC/ST and OBCs in the backward geographical areas of the society. Sri Manjunatha Swamy educational Society has conducted social activities like medical Social awareness Programms and to create self help group units at Jaglur and Davangere Talluks Besides various cultural programs were conducted under the auspicious of the society.

    In the Year 1987 87 Sri Manjunatha Swamy PU College was established by the affiliation of PUC Board and Govt of Karnataka. This PU College is Processing its own building and good staff to provide education in Arts and Commerce and Science.

    In the Year 1988-89 Under the Chairmanship of Kandikar Veerappa held a society meeting and made a resolution to open a degree college at Nituvalli, Davangere. In this regard, application was sent to Kuvempu University for Degree college affiliation The Registrar of Kuvempu University and Govt of Karnataka accorded affiliation to degree college in the year 1988-1989. It was named as Sri Manjunatha Swamy First Grade College in the Year 1988- 1989.
