The growth rate of Bihar had ever been far below the all India average in spite of huge potential of human resource. Keeping in view of the need of skilled personnel at all levels of management, some social thinkers, economists, philanthropists and the statesmen founded L. N. Mishra College of Business Management in the year 1973 under the noble guidance of Dr. Jagannath Mishra, the then Chief Minister of Bihar on inspiration of Late Lalit Narayan Mishra, the then Union Railway Minister, Government of India. Since 1973, L. N. Mishra College has been pioneering Management Education of Post Graduate level leading to MBA degree of B. R. Ambedkar Bihar University, Muzaffarpur, in order to cater the growing needs of professionals.

In addition, MCA Course was added to the gamut of this campus from 2002 in pursuance of approval of AICTE. Department of Higher Educational, Govt. of Bihar, Patna has concurred its affiliation vide letter No. 14/B3 - 036/2002 Higher Education 303/Patna Dated 09-05-2003 to start BBA and BCA courses from academic Session commencing July, 03 as a regular course. Recent year has witnessed a fundamental right in the opportunities in the field of teaching. Repeating its success story Institute introduced B. ED COURCE to facilitate the academician with vast opportunities of employment. This college is going to be recognized (APE00741) by National Council for Teacher Education, a statutory body of the govt. of India, Eastern region committee, Bhubaneswar.
