The founder Pt. Shiv Gulam Sharma saw a dream during his visit to oxford “The Oldest English Speaking University of The World” in the remote past & wished that an institution should also be started here at kanpur which should have the "Beauty Of West & The Wisdom Of The East".

Consequently an educational committee, under the name of “Shiv Gulam Sishu Siksha Niketan Samiti” came into existence in the year 1978 that founded oxford model sr. sec. school in July 1990 which was affiliated to CBSE on 09.11.2002 for classes I to X. keeping in the view its fool proof functioning it was upgraded for classes XI & XII also on 13.09.2002 with its extension that was granted on 02.09.2005.

Presently the school is imparting an ideal education to its pupils (both boys & girls) making them physically fit, mentally alert and spiritually sound in the streams of science, commerce & arts.
