"Sri Jagadguru Fakkireshwar Government First Grade College, Shirahatti was established in the Year 1992 to provide Quality Higher Education to the youth residing in surrounding of Shirahatti.It is affiliated to Karnatak University Dharwad and has UGC status of (2B) and (12 F). The college is the outcome of the imitative taken by the local educationalists and people representatives. Their concern for the rural youth and their talent in learning led to the establishment of Government First Grade College, Shirahatti. The college was started in 1992 at the campus of Dabali P.U. College. Later the college has shifted to its own campus in the year 2004 situated at Haripur on the Magadi - Laxmeshwar Road. It has a spacious well ventilated beautiful building surrounded by greenery. The campus area has 5.26 acre which is the prime land donated by Sri. Jagadguru Fakkireshwar swamiji. This shows their interest in education and intention of providing higher education to rural youth.
