A two-day workshop under ICAR-financed Farmer FIRST task was composed on 25-26 March, 2017 by ICAR-Indian Institute of Agricultural Biotechnology (IIAB), Ranchi. 

ICAR-Indian Institute of Agricultural Biotechnology, Ranchi sorted out Farmer FIRST Workshop Shri Sudarshan Bhagat, Minister of State, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare graced the workshop as boss visitor in the ranchers researcher interface on the subsequent day. Shri Bhagat featured noteworthy endeavors being attempted by the Government of India through dispatch of numerous plans to be specific Mera Gaon Mera Gaurav, Soil Health Management Scheme, Organic Farming, Gokul Mission, and so on in mission mode for maintainable improvement of agribusiness and upgrade of ranchers salary of the nation all in all with unique spotlight on eastern India for guiding second Green Revolution. Shri Bhagat valued the workshop, and remarked that it is a significant advance toward understanding the fantasy about multiplying ranchers' pay by 2022, as imagined by the Hon'ble Prime Minister of India. He encouraged the ranchers on broadening of cultivating, natural cultivating, esteem expansion, arrangement of self improvement gatherings (SHGs) at town level, downpour water reaping, strengthening of homestead ladies and optional farming. 

Shri Subrata Mandal, Chief General Manager, NABARD, Guest of Honor, advised about the various projects and plans being completed by NABARD for all-round improvement of farming in Jharkhand. He underlined on water preservation and the board, development of farming based cooperatives and SHGs uncommonly including ladies people of the general public. 

Dr. Kewal Krishan Sharma, Director, ICAR-IIAB underscored on incorporated cultivating frameworks for nourishment, dietary and work security, business openings, decrease of drudgery and strengthening of homestead ladies through array and use of suitable advances. He guaranteed the cultivating network that true attempt will be made to create model towns for farming under this program.
