The Administrative Staff College of India is a foundation of greatness and national significance. Set up in 1956, it is the as a matter of first importance organization of its sort in the nation. Set up as an establishment with a distinction at the joint activity of both the Government of India and the business, it is an independent, self-supporting, open reason foundation with the goals of being a research organization for approach inputs and to construct the limits of rehearsing experts in the administration of government and business ventures.
ASCI is an enrolled society by constitution. At the pinnacle of its administration structure is an approach setting, oversight body, the Court of Governors (CoG). The Chairmen of the Court of Governors since origin are: (I) Mr. John Mathai, previous Union Finance Minister; (ii) Mr. C.D. Deshmukh, previous Governor of RBI and previous Union Finance Minister; (iii) Mr. Dharma Vira, previous Cabinet Secretary to the GoI; (iv) Mr. M. Narasimham, previous Governor of RBI, Finance
Secretary to the GoI and Executive Director at the World Bank and IMF, Vice-President at ADB; (v) Dr. Abid Hussain, previous Member of Planning Commission and Ambassador to the USA.
The present Chairman, Sri K Padmanabhaiah, IAS (Retd), was the Former Home Secretary, Government of India.
The Court of Governors of ASCI incorporates, in ex-officio limit, (I) Secretary, Dept. of Personnel and Training, GoI; (ii) Finance Secretary, GoI; (iii) Secretary, Dept. of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development, GoI; and, (iv) Chief Secretary to the Government of Telangana.
Prof. Nirmala Apsingikar, is right now the Director General. She is the Chief Executive of the College. She works under the general direction of the CoG, driving, encouraging and organizing the elements of the College and its exercises.
