The Indian Institute of Economics was set up in 1953, as a National Center for Theoretical and Applied Economic Research, as a self-governing Not-revenue driven Society enrolled under the Public Societies Registration Act 1350F with No. 5/1953 dated seventh March 1953.
In compatibility of its targets, the Institute has built up a Library with more than twelve thousand volumes. It gets around forty Indian and International Journals.
