Central Institute of Tool Design(CITD) set up in 1968 by the Govt. of India with the help of UNDP and ILO, is a poineering Institution in the field of Tool Engineering in the Country. The Institute was at first settled as a United Nations Development Program (UNDP) Project and was executed by International Labor Organization (ILO). The Precision hardware and gear was given by UNDP and the staff were prepared abroad in the territory of Tool Engineering. The UNDP Experts remained at CITD for around 5 years and prepared officials, personnel and staff of CITD in production and structure of tooling. The primary destinations of the organization are: 

• Preparing of the specialized faculty in Designing and Manufacture of Tools, Dies and Molds. 
• Structure and Manufacture of bites the dust, dances, apparatuses and guages, and so on. 
• Arrangement of warning administrations to Small Scale Units incorporating help with plan and creating instruments for different procedures.
