National Bureau of Agriculturally Important Microorganisms (NBAIM) was built up through a subsidized task supported by the Department of Agricultural Research and Education (DARE), Ministry of Agriculture (Government of India) in the IX Plan in 2001 under the sponsorship of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). At first, the department began working at Old NBPGR Building, New Delhi and after that moved to Kusmaur, Mau Nath Bhanjan, Uttar Pradesh on first June, 2004.The essential objective of the Bureau is to advance and organize methodical and logical research in the zone of horticulturally significant microorganisms (AIMs) so as to improve the rural efficiency. The Bureau houses National Agriculturally Important Microbial Culture Collection (NAIMCC) with in excess of 5000 microbial promotions segregated from various pieces of the nation. The vision of the Bureau depends on utilizing its assets and encounters as a Microbial Resource Center to turn into the pioneer in the administration of standard microbial reference materials, protected innovation assets and translational research as connected to the advancement, institutionalization and confirmation of biomaterial.
