Avadh Girls' P.G. College is an organization for advanced education of ladies, kept running by the Avadh Educational Society. Established in 1958 as Loreto Degree College, it was taken over by the Avadh Educational Society in 1975 from Loreto Convent. In 1975-76 the Degree College was given over in totality by the Government to Avadh Educational Society with Begum Hamida Habibullah as President, Late Mrs. Kamla Bhargava as administrator and Late Mrs. B.C. Sharma as its head. Under her Principalship the Institution, with its new name, proceeded with its walk with eleven employees, one custodian, one office staff and four fourth class workers. With the purposeful endeavors of a great and devoted staff, the College guided through the changeover easily. Today, it is a main organization, having bestowed worth based training to multitudinous understudies for more than five decades.
