The Secondary Training College, Mumbai is the Premier Teacher Training College . The College was built up in January 1906 according to the proposals of Wood's Despatch of 1854 in the Bombay Presidency and solid advances taken by Hon. Emissary Lord Curzon.The College is the pioneer in advancing educator preparing approach and new procedures of instructing in then Bombay Presidency and at present in Maharashtra State.
Beforehand the College delighted in self-sufficient status and used to grant its own recognition the Secondary Training College Diploma (S.T.C.D.) which should be very prestiogious one back then. At present the College is controlled by Directorate of Higher Education Pune under the leadreship of Department of Higher Education Manatralaya, Mumbai.
