The National Film Archive of India was set up as a media unit of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting in February 1964. It is an individual from the International Federation of Film Archives. With central command at Pune, Maharashtra, NFAI has three territorial workplaces at Bangalore, Calcutta and Thiruvananthapuram. Created starting with no outside help by P. K. Nair,[1] NFAI's exercises identifying with spread of film culture are complex.
