Holy Cross School of Nursing at Kamagere is an endeavor of the Sisters of the Holy Cross. The Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross, Menzingen, was established by Fr. Theodosius Florentini in a town called Menzingen in Switzerland in the year 1844, with the help of its Co-organizer Mother Bernarda Heimgartner. A relentless and far-located organizer perceived the need of his time and needed to reduce the instructive, religious and social needs,and demonstrate the general population another course. Holy Cross School of Nursing appeared at the felt need of giving Professional Training and Higher Education for town ladies as a major aspect of Women Empowerment Program. The rediscovery of the establishing Charism and the reason for the Congregation gave a push to the service of training and development of the little youngsters. Remembering this the Holy Cross School of Nursing, the primary Nursing School in the region of Chamarajanagar was begun in the year 1997.
