DM Institute of Teachers Education, Imphal got its introduction to the world from the first since forever Education Department of the past D. M. School, in 1952. In 1972, after Manipur got its statehood on 21st January 1972, it delighted in a different presence as Teacher Training College, and later on it was renamed as Post Graduate Training College on fifteenth September 1972.
Acclaimed as one of the top B. Ed College in India by Indian Education.com, the D. M. School of Teacher Education was moved up to the degree of College of Teacher Education (CTE), as a token of acknowledgment from National Council of Teacher Education (NCTE), New Delhi in 1997. It is the main government Teacher Education College in Manipur with productive and experienced employees.
The College is conferring instructor training both to B. Ed and M. Ed understudies. The admission limit with regards to the B. Ed course dictated by NCTE is 150 and that of M. Ed is 50.
