The inception of North Calcutta Polytechnic was Donbosco Polytechnic that begun in the Year 1963 as a State Govt. supported Polytechnic, Salesian Society of Northern India with their office at Don Bosco School, Calcutta, bought 22 bighas of land at 15, Gobinda Mondal Lane, Cossipore, Calcutta with a plan to run a polytechnic. Sri A.C.Sen, the Chief Inspector of Technical Education, Govt. of West Bengal approached to energize the thought and affirmed the arrangement in the year 1960-61.
