Karnatak Law Society’s Shri Vasantrao Potdar Polytechnic (formerly known as Polytechnic for Women) was established in the year 1992. The idea behind setting up the Polytechnic was to impart quality technical education, to girl students from an economically weaker section of the society. The Institute started with two Diploma courses in Engineering Disciplines, viz. Architecture and Computer Science. Today, VPP is offering diploma education in five disciplines.The Institute has seen a steady growth in students’ intake, from 50 to 271 over a span of 20 years, while total staff strength has gone up from 3 to 70 in the same period.

Centre of Excellence (COE)

The Centre of Excellence aims at promoting excellence in education through special coaching sessions for students who feel the need to strengthen their skills in select subjects and areas of specialization. VPP started the Centre of Excellence (COE) in the month of Feb 2019, Prof. Anuradha Desai of Computer Science & Engineering appointed as the Coordinator of COE. The COE has plans to align its curriculum with the top industries from different stream of engineering to enable quality placements and meet industry expectations upfront. COE programmes helps to enhance the skill sets of students to meet the industry expectation. Currently it houses the initiatives like CADD centre, Hydromatik, TUV Rhienland , Eduwings and other leading Industries in Pipeline.
