ShankaraGowda College of Education is the scholarly branch of People's Education Society and was set up in 1974. It is situated in the P.E.S. College of Engineering Campus., a spot famous as a Center of Educational Institutions where scholastic offices are given appropriate from Secondary College up to research considers in different parts of Humanities, Science and Technology. It is one of the Pioneer educator instruction establishments in Karnataka. 

The College was set up in 1974 to remember the 60th birth day of Sri K.V.Shankara Gowda, who was known as 'PURUSHA SARASWATHI' of Mandya District and called 'NITHYA SACHIVA' by Poet Laureate KUVEMPU, for his work as Minister of Education in the Government of Karnataka during the mid eighties. It is a College of Education set up and kept running by the People's Education Trust(R), which at present is going by an extraordinary visionary and a severe stickler Dr.H.D.Chowdaiah. 

The College has seen a perceptible changes and colossal advancement during most recent two decades. It has Computerized Library, Well prepared Computer Laboratory, Language Laboratory, Science Laboratories for Chemistry, Biology, Physics and Mathematics, Educational Technology Room and Sport Room.
