Vidyavardhaka first grade College was set up in the year 1978 under the support of Vidyavardhaka Sangha (R). In the first place there were just 40 understudies who joined the B.B.M. course. Later in the year 1979, B.Com was begun with another 50 understudies. 

This College is associated to the University of Mysore, MYSORE, under area 12(B) and segment 2F of UGC and is perceived by the Government of Karnataka. Today, this College has reinforced with 1000 understudies having 4 segments of B.Com degree, one area of B.B.M. degree and one segment of B.A. degree. In the course of recent decades, our College has an amazing scholastic record. Upto 2004, our College has stowed 47 positions in B. Com., B.B.M., and B.C.S. 

Later on when the rank framework was abrogated by the University of Mysore our College has the credit of getting umpteen quantities of qualifications consistently. Further, so as to oblige the necessities and requests of the active understudies of B.Com and B.B.M. the administration thought of opening a P.G.Centre in our College. Thus, M.Com is being begun in our College premises from 2011-2012.
