Walchand College of Engineering became autonomous in 2007. the faculty revamped its tutorial structure and contents, in consultation with few us and IIT tutorial consultants. consequently, the terminology of B.E and M.E programs has been modified to B school and M school programs. once the completion of the primary term of six years, the school has currently received extension of autonomous standing for the second term of six years until 2019-20. It participated within the World Bank funded, Government of Asian country theme, namely, Technical Education Quality Improvement Program (TEQIP) in phase I clinical trial from 2005-2009, whereby it stood all-India 2d out of 127 taking part establishments in terms of program impact performance. the school is presently taking part in phase II of TEQIP with outstanding performance Walchand school of Engineering is placed midway between Sangli and Miraj cities at Vishrambag, Sangli.
