Loyola College of Education is a Catholic, Private, Minority establishment arranged at Namchi, the South District of Sikkim in a rambling and beautiful ten sections of land of land at the lower regions of the Himalayas. It was begun because of the solicitation of the Government of Sikkim and is named after St Ignatius of Loyola, the Founder of the Society of Jesus. 

The Society of Jesus was established in 1540 by St Ignatius of Loyola and its individuals are prominently known as the Jesuits. It is an International Catholic Religious Order with its individuals occupied with exercises, for example, Education, Social Action, Legal Aid, Communication, Pastoral Works, Adult and Rural Literacy Programs, Environmental examinations and so on. 

The idea of an instructive establishment like Loyola College of Education in Sikkim was initially brought about by Fr Cherian Padiyara, S.J., the then Regional Superior of the Darjeeling Jesuits. This vision was in this manner concretized and expertly and tastefully structured by Mr Kiran Rasaily. Its establishment stone was honored by Fr Peter Hans Kolevanbach, S.J., the then Superior General of the Society of Jesus on March 03, 1993. The development of the College building was administered and prepared for use by June 1994 by Fr Giles Goluckmu, S.J., and the primary clump of students was conceded in July,1994.
