Himalayan Pharmacy Institute is the pioneer foundation directing Pharmacy courses in the State of Sikkim. It is an autonomous, co-instructive and self financed organization offering Diploma, Undergraduate, Post graduate and Doctor of Philisophy (PhD) drug store programs. 

The Institute is arranged in Majitar, at the edge of the NH 10, 4kms in front of Rangpo, the bordertown of West Bengal and Sikkim and 74 kms from Siliguri, West Bengal. From Majitar 36kms stay towards Gangtok, the capital of Sikkim. The closest Railway station is New Jalpaiguri and the air terminal is Bagdogra. 

HPI had an unassuming starting path in 1990 in Fiveways, Deorali with the multi year Diploma in Pharmacy course. Inferable from the prevalence of the confirmation course, in 1997 the multi year degree course, B. Pharm was begun. It was in the year 2000 that the foundation was moved to it's present area in Majitar. From the new spread-out grounds the main bunch of B. Pharm graduated in 2001. From that point, the Institute arrived at new statures in 2005, when it began M.Pharm in Pharmaceutics pursued by ace degree programs in Pharmacognosy (2007), Pharmacology (2008) and Pharmaceutical Analysis (2012). The Institute arrived at another achievement in 2017, in the wake of beginning Doctor of Philisophy (PhD). 

Himalayan Pharmacy Institute has been endorsed by Govt. of Sikkim, AICTE, PCI and is partnered to Sikkim University. It is certify by ISO 9001:2008 and perceived by UGC u/s 2(f) of UGC Act, 1956. The Governing Body of HPI involves eleven individuals including Govt. chosen one, AICTE candidate and University individuals alongside the Director, Principal, Faculty and Student of the Institute. HPI has a Teachers Council including all the College personnel of the Institute which aides in the checking of the scholastic and regulatory educational plan. This is additionally bolstered by 18 different boards of trustees like the Disciplinary and Anti-ragging Committee, Hostel Management Committee, Training and Counseling Committee, Instrument Maintenance Committee, Seminar and Workshop Committee, Sports Committee, Research Committee, Gender Sensitization Committee and so on.
