Our school, Maharishi College of Natural Law was set up in the year 1982 with a significant gift given by Maharishi Institute of Creative Intelligence (MICI), one of the Organizations of his Holiness Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, in whose name this establishment has been dedicated.
Around then it was an extraordinary pride for the individuals of Orissa that this College was one of the 1001 instructive establishments opened everywhere throughout the world by His Holiness Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, where other than standard educational program, the instructing in Meditation and Science of Creative insight was granted by the prepared instructors originating from Rishikesh Ashram.
In the first place, it bestowed guidance just for young men in Arts, Science and Commerce in Intermediate Course, in a leased house with just 384 Students and 17 Teaching Staff. Following a half year, the school was moved and began working in its own multistoried structure situated in a rambling four sections of land of land at Sahid Nagar in the core of the Capital City, Bhubaneswar. The College is perceived by the Government of Orissa and was first associated to Utkal University. In any case, with the difference in the training design, the College was partnered to the Council of Higher Secondary Education from the session 1983-84 to bestow guidance for +2 Courses in Arts, Science and Commerce.

The +3 Degree Courses in Arts from 1988-89, Science from 1989-90 and Commerce from 1993-94 have been presented under Utkal University. As time moved on the College got connection for showing Honors in Economics, History and Psychology in + 3 Arts stream from the session 1993-94 and Honors in Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology in +3 Science stream from the session 1994-95 and Honors in Mathematics and Education from the Session 1996-97 and Commerce Honors in Accounting and Management from the Session 2001-01 and Honors in Sanskrit and Philosophy from the Session 2004-2005. It is qualified to take note of that the College is getting a charge out of full helped College status since 1991. The College had no Governing Body/Management of its own as it is subjudice and by requests of Hon'ble Orissa High Court, it was under the immediate control of the Director, Higher Education, Orissa who himself was the Receiver of the College since 2004. From the Session 2004-2005 Sub-Collector of Bhubaneswar is filling in as the President of the Governing Body.
