The Government Engineering College came into authoritative control of Collegiate Education in Karnataka, in the next year (1961) according to the general strategy of the legislature. In the year 1963, the school was moved up to envelop degree courses, Prof. K.S.Nanjundaiah turning into the originator Principal of the degree school.
