Sanjay Memorial Institute of Technology (SMIT) is the primary private independent Technical/Professional Institute in Orissa built up in the year 1980 by Late Brundaban Nayak, Ex-Minister of Govt.of Orissa the originator of the foundation and Registered under Society Registration Act 1960, vide No. GJM-6-6-of 1980-81. 

In the year 1980, our late organizer Brundaban Nayak has at first begun A.M.I.E and Diploma courses and built foundation offices like Building, Hostel, Play ground and so forth.
