As far back as 1949, the nonattendance of a school here was profoundly felt. The fantasy took a substantial shape on 26th Jan., 1960 of every a pubilc meeting, Finally, a school advisory group was framed by the neighborhood individuals under the Presidentship of Late Rajbahadur Rama Chandra Mardharaj Deo, the then M.L.A of Khallikote. While endeavors for foundation of a school were going on and open commitment was in advancement, the Rajasaheb inhaled his last. Henceforth, another Managing Committee was framed under the Presidentship of Mrs. Sugnana Kumari Deo, the Ranisaheba of Khallikote. Late Pandit Baikolli Mahapatra andTrinath Samantra were the Vice-President and the Secretary of the College Managing Committee individually.  The main review commission for the foundation of a school visited Khallikote on fifth April' 64 and prescribed for the equivalent. At first, the school began working in the Dewan Bunglow from first July' 64 and later, it was moved to the present structure at Nirmaljhar in1968.The College was named after the big-hearted Rajabahadur Rama Chandra Mardharaj Deo, for whose vision and benevolence this school owes its reality. The twelve sections of land of land, an all encompassing spot at Nirmaljhar on which the school complex stands was given by Late Rajmata Chandrapriya Devi. In the first place, the College was associated to the Utkal University in Pre-University Science. After the foundation of Berhampur University in 1966 the school was reaffiliated to it. This association has turned into a fulfledged degree school in Arts/Science/Commerce stream with offices for Honors instructing. In case of the foundation of Council of Higher Secondary Education in 1983, the Higher Secondary wing was associated to the CHSE, Orissa.  The professional stream in +2 has been presented in the school since 2002 . The Govt. Junior Vocational College built up here gives showing offices in a single exchange, for example, TTT.
