Named after St.Joseph, its supporter holy person, the College was established in 1971, by the late Bishop of Mysore; the Most Rev.Dr.Mathias Fernandes. Combined with the visionary energy of the originator, and the dynamism of the organizer Secretary, Rev Fr. Dennis Noronha, the College was built up on the firm establishment of the adage of ' Love, Loyalty and Service'. The College is a Roman Catholic Institution, and appreciates the status of a religious minority.
The College, which is 45 years of age, has been perceived as a presumed establishment taking into account the requirements of both urban and country auxiliary Colleges by giving the genuinely necessary aptitude through its preparation programs. The B.Ed. Degree assessment results during the said period have been very great all through.
At present, the College is productively overseen under the support of His Excellency Rt.Rev. Dr. K. A. WILLIAM, Bishop of Mysore and the dynamic initiative of the Secretary and the Correspondent Rev. Fr. VIJAY KUMAR.
