Travancore Engineering College was built up in 2002 by Travancore Education Society, Kallambalam. The general public was enlisted in 2001 under Charitable Societies Act of Travancore-Cochin 1955, by a gathering of visionaries and educationists with the expectation of instructive inspire of more fragile areas. 

Director of the Society is A. Sainulabdeen Poonthottam. One of the goals of the Society was satisfied with the foundation of Travancore Engineering College at Roadvila close Oyoor. The College began working with the endorsement from All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi and Government of Kerala. The University of Kerala conceded connection for B.Tech courses in Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering and Electrical and Electronics Engineering with an admission of 60 understudies in each part of study. During the years 2005 and 2008, the AICTE, subsequent to evaluating the advancement of the Institution, conceded consent to begin two extra B.Tech courses in Mechanical and Civil Engineering with an admission of 60 understudies each and in 2011 the College got endorsement for Telecommunication Engineering (Dept. of ECE). Today, the College has well prepared labs and workshops, qualified and experienced employees, an all around loaded library, an armada of vehicles, lodgings and all other fundamental offices.
