Named after the supporter holy person of the neighborhood catholic area, the school was begun in the year 1965 under the support of Rt.Rev.Dr.Sebastian Vayalil, the First Bishop of Pala. Very Rev. Fr. Thomas Manakkatt, the then Vicar of St. George Forane Church, Aruvithura, Rev. Fr. Thomas Araythinal, Mr. T.A. Thomman and a large group of donors in and around Aruvithura have assumed a significant job in the establishing and later in the development and improvement of this incredible seat of learning. For over two decades Mar Joseph Pallickaparampil, the Bishop of Pala, had been the supporter of this sanctuary of learning. Rt.Rev.Dr.Joseph Kallarangattu is the present benefactor of this school. 

The school, possessed by the Forane Church, Aruvithura, arranged on the banks of waterway Meenachil takes into account the scholastic needs of the offspring of all networks the two young men and young ladies of Erattupetta and the fringe territories. It was begun as a Junior College in 1965 with five clumps of understudies in the first pre-degree class. Under the stewardship of the Managers Very Rev. Fr. Thomas Manakkat, Very Rev. Fr.Jacob Thazhathel and first Principal Prof. K.J. Scaria the school had an incredible development even from its very commencement. Following six years of priceless administration when Prof. Scaria left Rev. Fr. Joseph Thekkanady came in his place. He served uniquely for a brief time of one year. 

At that point came Prof. P.J.Joseph who had a long innings of fifteen years as Principal during whose period the College gained incredible steps and all round ground in both curricular and extra curricular fields. It was during his residency that the school was updated (1978). There was wonderful increment in the quantity of understudies and staff individuals during the period. He got the unstinted help of a committed group of staff alongside the significant administration of Very. Rev.Fr.Jacob Njavally, Very Rev.Fr. Abraham Paprappuram and very. Rev.Fr.Joseph Nattunilam, the administrators.
