Since its unassuming origin in a one room working in the year 1937, RLV College crossed numerous obstacles to arrive at its present status of loftiness and magnificence. The recent territory of Kochi and its visionary rulers conceived an institute for young ladies and senior women to give the specialty of sewing and painting. The undertaking seeded the introduction of RLV, "Radha Lakshmi Vilasam" for the sake of King's little girl Radha and spouse Lakshmi. The foundation formed into an organization and thrived by consolidating courses in vocal classes. (Carnatic Music). It started to offer Diploma and Post Diploma courses in Vocal, Bharata Natyam, Kathakali and Painting. In 1998, the courses were rebuilt into Under Graduate and Post Graduate courses according to Mahatma Gandhi University standards. The establishment was renamed as RLV College of Music and Fine Arts and by and by it offers 13 UG courses and 13 PG courses in Music, Performing Arts and Fine Arts offices.
