Government Engineering College, Wayanad (GECW) was set up by the Government of Kerala in 1999. From its modest start in the grounds of Government College, Mananthavady the organization has developed to a lofty foundation for advanced education in the northern piece of the State. Three college class viz. Software engineering and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering and Architecture were offered toward the start. The school presently offers B.Tech courses in Computer Science &Engg., Electronics and Communication Engg., Electrical and Electronics Engg and Mechanical Engg. (The design course was moved to GEC Trissur). A M.Tech.course in Communication and Signal Processing is additionally being offered from 2011 and M.Tech course in Computer Science and Engineering Network and Security from 2014 onwards.
