Co-usable Arts and Science College had its modest start in the year 1980. A couple of taught, jobless and venturesome youngsters of Payyanur, set up a Co-usable Educational Society, under the Kerala Co-employable Societies Act,1956 to run a parallel school at Payyanur. The general public gave genuine idea to the foundation of a standard subsidiary supported school at Madayi. The author President of the Society Sri. M.K. Raghavan took up the proposition as a test. With the consolidated exertion of the considerable number of individuals, the Society prevailing with regards to satisfying the different conditions set somewhere around the Calicut University. In 1982-83, the College started to work as an ordinary helped Junior College with two Pre-Degree clusters, one in the IIIrd Group and one in the IVth Group.
Co-usable Arts and Science College, Madayi was officially initiated by the then Minister for Education Sri.T.M.Jacob at a formal capacity directed by the then serve Sri.K.P.Noorudhin on 21st December 1982. The school at first started to work in the Madrasa Hall made accessible by the Ahammadiyya Jama-ath-Committee,Madayi.
The establishment stone of the College building was laid by the then Chief Minister of Kerala Sri.K.Karunakaran on seventh April 1983. The College was moved to the madayipara grounds on 24th July 1985.The formal introduction of the structure was finished by the then Governor of Kerala Sri.P Ramachandran on 10-2-1986. The establishment stone for the Science Block was laid on 24th April1986 by Smt. M.Kamalam , then serve for Cooperation.
