The School of Industrial Fisheries was built up in 1976 as the Department of Industrial Fisheries under the recent University of Cochin for postgraduate educating and research on all parts of fisheries science and innovation. The School offers M.Sc. Degree in Industrial Fisheries, Master of Fisheries Science (M.F.Sc.) in Seafood Safety and Trade, M.Phil. furthermore, Ph.D. programs in fisheries-related controls like aquaculture, fishery science, angling art and apparatus innovation, fish-preparing innovation, fishery financial matters and fisheries the executives. The School gives direction and office to understudies to chip away at any subject of topical enthusiasm for the fields showed previously. The graduated class of the School are generally welcomed by the business and exchange both inside and outside the nation. The workforce of the School has so far distributed four books, 300 research papers, four monographs and book surveys, other than having increased worldwide introduction by visiting abroad initiates in the field. The School has sorted out four national classes and at present has a few research extends on Population Dynamics of Macrobrochium rosenbergii and Genetics of Fresh Water Fishes of Kerala, Coastal Zone Management and the Political Economy of Sustainable Development, Ornamental Fishes of Kerala and Biodiversity of Backwaters of Kerala/West Coast of India. The School is arranged in the Lakeside Campus.
