This head and memorable foundation began working with an unassuming start as a Teacher Training School set up in 1937, elevated to Teachers Training College in 1948. The Institute was assigned as Govt. School of Education in 1968. The group from MHRD visited the school in April, 2013 and surrendered proposal for degree of the school to IASE. The Higher Education Department, Govt. of J&k issued orders for up degree in August 2016 vide Govt. Request No: HE/UP-GRAD/COES/CSS2013/78 Dated: 04/03/2016 wherein the school was moved up to INSTITUTE OF ADVANCED STUDIES IN EDUCATION (IASE). In 2016 there was an adjustment in the affiliating University, the school is by and by associated to Cluster University Srinagar, and with its connection to Cluster University Srinagar it was assigned as "Institute of Education". The organization presently tries to be a self-ruling University and has begun working toward that path. 

Being certify by NAAC in 2004 with Grade 'An' and after that Re-authorize in March 2012 with Grade-A (CGPA 3.52 on a four point scale), both the occasions it was evaluated by NAAC as High Performing Institution and the companion group put on record extraordinary gratefulness and proposal for a self-ruling status.
