Govt. Degree College Doda is arranged at Nagri territory of District headquarter Doda at a tallness of 3500 feet from the ocean level. Sequentially being third organization of higher learning in Doda District, Degree College Doda was set up on 30.03.1989 vide Govt. Request No. 74-HE of 1989 dated: 17.03.1989. The College rendered its administrations to the understudies and the general public from the structure of Govt. Higher Secondary School (Boys) Doda, directly from its foundation till 2001-02, when it got moved to its own present grounds. 

This College began scattering the training incorporating the virtues to the general public through an aggregate of 97 understudies took on the1st cluster of 1989-90 session in B.A. Part-I as it were. Directly from the Ist session of 1989-90 to the session 2001-02, this College granted instruction at undergrad level in the Arts stream as it were. The said Arts stream contained the subjects viz., English, Political Science, Education, History, English Literature, Economics, Urdu, Hindi, Persian and Mathematics. 

During the session 2001-02 the Science stream was additionally presented in this school vide Govt. request No. 201-HE of 2001 dated 16.07.2001. The Science stream comprises of four subjects to be specific Physics, Chemistry, Zoology and Botany. Another subject on traditional language in particular Arabic has been presented from the session 2005-06. Humanism was presented from the session 2008-09 and now BCA have likewise been presented from session 2012-13. From this session PC application as its one subject is additionally being presented.
