Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu (SKUAST-Jammu) appeared on twentieth September, 1999 after the change in Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology Act, 1982, through the State Legislature. The foundation of SKUAST of Jammu has in its experience goals, duty and teacher enthusiasm to cook the requirements of Jammu Division for the area explicit advances through training, research and expansion in the field of agribusiness. The Faculty of Agriculture (FOA) at Chatha have 231.2 ha zone and Faculty of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry (F.V.Sc. and AH) at R. S. Pura has 84.13 ha land holding. The all out land holding, including Research Stations/Sub-Stations and KVKs, of the University is 455.65 ha. There are Eight Research Stations/Sub-Stations and seven KVKs in the University which are situated in various agro-climatic zones of Jammu district for cooking the area explicit needs of the cultivating network.
