This College was first settled by previous leader of BAGHAT ESTATE Late Raja Durga Singh on thirteenth April 1929 as Tarini Sanskrit Pathshala. Since its origin, this College stayed associated to the Punjab University Lahore till 1947. After freedom, this organization was taken over by Government of Punjab and stayed associated to Punjab University, Chandigarh w.e.f. 1947 - 1971. From 1971 to date, this establishment is subsidiary to Himachal Pradesh University Shimla-171005.
The Government of Himachal Pradesh presented a status of Government Sanskrit College to this establishment in the year 1999 and the University Grand Commission gave it acknowledgment. A huge number of Shastri educators are moves on from this establishment. This College is driving Sanskrit Institution in the north district of India. Directly from 1962, this College began post graduate classes in the subject of Vyakaran, Sahitya, Jyotish and Darshan.
