The Legislative Assembly of Gujarat State passed a bill to set up a self-ruling University for Ayurvedic training, and hence the Gujarat Ayurved University was set up on 5/01/1967. Jamnagar was chosen to be the focal working spot of the University and hence, Shree Gulabkunverba Ayurved College turned into a unit of the University.
Together with the foundation of the college, Shree Gulabkunverba Ayurved Chikitsalaya likewise appeared and this clinic has a limit of 150 beds at IPD level.
