NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF HOMOEOPATHY was established on tenth Dec 1975 in the city as associate Autonomous Organisation below the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India. Presently, it's below the Ministry of AYUSH, Govt. of India.
The Institute , related to to the West Bengal University of Health Sciences, presently conducts the degree course in homeopathy viz Bachelor of Homoeopathic medication and Surgery [B.H.M.S.] since 1987 and Post - Graduate course i.e. Doctor of medication in homeopathy [M.D.(Hom.)] in six subjects viz system of rules of medication, Repertory, medicine,Practice of medication, pediatric medicine and Homoeopathic Pharmacy since 1998-99 onward.
Today it consists of associate undergrad associated Postgraduate sections with an area of 800 roominess, a hospital having associate patient dept. and a one hundred bedded inpatients dept. together with fact-finding facilities.
The Institute is functioning in its own field measurement regarding sixteen acres of land at Block - GE, Sector - III, Salt Lake, city - 700 106, with a complete floor area of regarding one.8 hundred thousand sq. meters with impact from eleven.08.1986.
