Mahesh Bhattacharyya Homeopathic Medical College and Hospital was ab initio established by late Dr. Bhola Nath Chakrabarty on March twenty-seven, 1967 within the field of Sankar mathematics close to Ramrajatala, Howrah, named as Shankarmath medical aid Medical faculty and Hospital. it had been pass by the trustees of the maths, medical care practitioners, a band of young and energetic medical aid practitioners and twelve students. It rendered medical services to the weaker section of the society through a charitable OPD within the 1st instance and commenced to run the sheepskin course in homoeopathy (DMS).
sadly, in 1971, on account of the intense chaotic social and political turmoil in Howrah, the faculty was shifted quickly to the tiny accommodation of the chamber of Dr. B. N. Chakrabarty at 62/1, Netaji Subhas Road, Howrah
On Pan American Day, 1972, the faculty started functioning in its own building with four hundred students, half dozen massive rooms, associate OPD and thirty beds on a {1} bigha land at 1, G. T. The BMS course was renamed as Bachelor of medical aid drugs & Surgery (BHMS). Since September 1979 the government took the responsibility for giving full money help for payment of pay of the workers and development of teaching schools. The government sanctioned a grant of Rs. two lakhs in 1980-81 for purchase of books and equipment. Finally, on Gregorian calendar month two, 1986, the complete management was seized by the govt. of province.
