The college came into being through formal inauguration by Dr.Ashim Dasgupta, the then Hon'ble Minister-In-Charge, Finance, Govt. of state, on eighth August 1998. The College was shifted to its own field and it had been formally opened on fourth August 2001, by Mr. Buddha Dev Bhattacharjee, the then Hon'ble Chief Minister of state. the faculty is motor-assisted by the govt. . of state. Established by a voluntary Society, this non-commercial and self-financed faculty is on its superb run beneath the competent steering of an establishment. Mr.Dipak Kumar Roy is that the Chairman of Society for MCET & HRD and establishment, MCET. The institute is approved by the All Republic of India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) , Indian capital and related to to the state University of Technology (WBUT).
