INSTITUTE OF MASS COMMUNICATION FILM STUDIES was approved by The Department of upper Education, Govt. of the province, attached to the college of Kalyani and University Grants Commission.
The Institute of Mass Communication Film and tv Studies is registered beneath the Societies Act, XXVI of 1961, Govt. of the province having registration no S/IL/10093 to impart business courses within the field of media. This includes Mass Communication, Journalism, Public Relation, Advertising, Audio-Visual Communication and also the alternative allied subjects associated with media studies. This Society is created as associate degree irreversible Non-Profit Organization.
The basic objective of the Institute is to groom the scholars within the field of media and per se to come up with employment and self-employment opportunities in media each in electronic and print as well as outside and company sectors. this can be a gap for the aspirant young students to determine themselves in their life.
The University of Kalyani in technical collaboration with the Institute has begun to broadcast education based mostly docudrama programs through All Asian country Radio, Kolkata-A (Prime Channel) at 657 kilocycles per second. covering fourteen Districts of the province. The contract between AIR and University of Kalyani has already been signed and a memo of Agreement between the University of Kalyani and also the Institute has been dead. By the virtue of the memo of Agreement, the Institute can turn out and market all the programs on behalf of the University for broadcast.
