Maharaja Srischandra College dates back to 1941, once the faculty was started in a {very} very busy North urban center neighborhood Shyambazar by prince Srischandra Nandy in memory of his father prince Manindra Chandra Nandy, a far-famed philanthropic Zamindar of Cossimbazar. Our founder prince Srischandra Nandy (1897-1952), was the son of prince Manindra Chandra Nandy and princess Kashiwagi of Khirgram, Burdwan. He was the last zamindar of the Cossimbazar dominion before the conclusion of the zamindari system. He delineates the geographic area zamindars within the Fazlul Haque – Shyamaprasad ministry.
