In 1970 at the instance, initiative and money contributions these days Ranadeb Chaudhuri and his relations and with active co-operation of different legal luminaries, UN agency fashioned the primary administration of the faculty, Jogesh Chandra Chaudhuri faculty of Law was established by CHAUDHURI FOUNDATION TRUST. The Law faculty was named when Jogesh Chandra Chaudhuri UN agency has Associate in Nursing worthy place in India’s independence movement.
Jogesh Chandra, UN agency was educated in urban center and Oxford, was known as to the Bar in European nation. On returning home he joined the urban center state supreme court. His legal acumen and interest in law found expression within the celebrated Legal Journal “Calcutta Weekly Notes”, of that he was the Founder – Editor.
In the next generation one finds , as it were, continuation of talent in well–known figures as Ranadeb, Associate in Nursing eminent professional and specializer, and Jayantanath, ex-Commander-in Chief of India’s military.
Early in life Jogesh Chandra came in shut bit with the good Surendranath Banerjee, ever to be remembered because the ‘Father of Indian Nationalism’. He selected for his life–mate, Sarasibala, a female offspring of Surendranath, and dedicated himself to figure for the country beneath his inspiring leadership. There wasn't a session of the Congress in those days wherever he wasn't a lively participant. On several occasions he acted in such accountable positions as Secretary of the Congress.
The College bears his name and it's hopes that we are going to live up to the lofty ideals of the unselfish man, Jogesh Chandra Chaudhuri. the faculty has completed its jubilee and that we foresee to the Golden with a way of accomplishment.
