The KG Prasada Rao - Akkineni Nageswara Rao College of Education is the sister establishment of the Akkineni Nageswara Rao College, Gudivada. The Akkineni Nageswara Rao College is the aftereffect of the kindness and enthusiasm for advanced education of the individuals of Gudivada Taluk and of the neighboring taluks in Krishna District lead by nearby visionaries comprising of Sri Parvathaneni Venkataratnam (President), Sri Kaza Venkataramaiah (Secretary), Sri Uppalapati Veerabhadra Rao (Treasurer), Sri Vemulapalli Ramabrahmam (Joint Secretary) and Sarvasri Vadde Sobhanadri, Sri Lingam Venkata Krishnaiah and Sri Upadrasta Papanna Sastry as individuals.
The first Degree College was officially initiated under the name "The Gudivada College" by Prof. V.S.Krishna, B.A., (Oxon), Ph.D. (Vienna), the Vice-Chancellor of the Andhra University, on July 6 th, 1950.
In 1960 the school moved to its present premises comprising of 23.43 sections of land of prolific land given by Philanthropic residents of Pedaparupudi and Bhushanagulla.
Sri Akkineni Nageswara Rao and the admirers gave a gift of a lakh of rupees, and the school was named as " Akkineni Nageswara Rao College ".
The Akkineni Nageswara Rao College commended its Silver Jubilee in 1976. Sri Jalagam Vengala Rao, the then Chief Minister of A.P. was the Chief Guest of the capacity.
The Akkineni Nageswara Rao College praised its Golden Jubilee in the year 2000. Sri Nara Chandra Babu Naidu, the then Chief Minister of A.P. was the Chief Guest of the capacity alongside other noticeable pioneers of the nation.
