Even through the institution was started as a Primary School in 1976, it was upgraded as a high school in 1984 and as a Vocational Higher Secondary School in 1995. Plus two classes were started in the school in the year 2002. In 2003 “Pattom Thanu Pillai Memorial Teacher training Institute was stated for conducting T.T.C course; and in 2006, ‘Pattom Thanu Pillai Memorial College of Education’ was established for conducting the B.Ed course affiliated to the university of Kerala. Now it has developed into a full fledged educational complex catering to the educational needs of an extensive rural area.
