      Application for affiliation was made in October, 1946 to the Madras University. Dr. M. Abdul Haq (Founder), Mr. Abdul Hamid Khan, M.L.C., Dr. Syed Abdul Lateef, played an active role and presented a Memorandum to Sir Mirza Ismail, President of His Exalted Highness, the Nizam's Council, for a capital grant of Rs. 2,00,000/- and the college was named as " OSMANIA COLLEGE ". All through the joint efforts and mostly the active role of Dr. M. Abdul Haq, Osmania College, Kurnool was established in 1946-47, which is paying rich dividends to all sections of the society and to say the least every house in Kurnool has a graduate from Osmania College.
