The Institution has been affiliated by the UGC u/s 2(f) from its inception vide letter no. 13-2/71(CD) dated 31.01.1971 and considered eligible to receive central assistance through UGC u/s 12(B). The Government of West Bengal has permitted the College for conducting B. Ed. Course from the academic session 1969-70. The College has been affiliated to Burdwan University vide letter No. IC/893/69 dated 04.08.1969. After that the College has opened B. P. Ed course for with due permission to its affiliate University i.e. Burdwan University vide letter no. IC/Aff(F)/43/136/75 dated 05.08.75 and Govt. of West Bengal vide letter no. 654-Edn (SE)/132-21/78 dated 25.11.1978 from the academic session 1978-79. B. P. Ed course is fully residential in nature and for Men only. It also earned the NCTE Recognition for both B. Ed. and B. P. Ed with the intake of one basic unit each.
