Amar Sewa Mandal, a reputed education society was founded by Late Shri Govindraoji Wanjari, to cater the needs of quality education in and around Nagpur. The society has established many educational institutions in the Nagpur region. Kamla Nehru Mahavidyalaya, one of the pioneering institutions run by the society was started in 1983 with modest infrastructure and a few courses to offer. The College building was inaugurated at the hands of Late Shri Rajiv Gandhiji on 12 September 1984. It now offers undergraduate and post graduate courses in Arts, Commerce, Science, Home Science to over 6500 students and is accredited (Grade A) by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), New Delhi. As a part of diversification the society has established Colleges for conducting professional courses viz. Pharmacy, Engineering, Management etc.
