SLN college was started by SLN charities in the year 1966. It is the oldest college next to R C college and St.Joseph college of commerce producing thousands of Commerce and Arts Graduates, since its inception.

The managing committee of SLN charities will be re-constituted once in every four years by the Govt of Karnataka. The college is permanently affiliated by the, Bangalore University. The college is included in the list of colleges maintained under section 2(f) of the UGC Act. 1956,the college is recognised by the UGC Act-1956. Our College accomodates the highest number of SC/ST students every year.The college has the most experienced teaching staff and produced good results over the years. Even in sports and literary competitions our students have secured Univercity, state and national awards.
